February Weather in the Pacific Northwest

I think it boils down to this:

People just want you to STFU.

Enjoy your vacation.

Quit pissing in our Cheerios while snow is on the ground.

Yellow snow sucks.

I get hundreds of 'likes' on my cold and snow posts and my lowland snow maps and my excitement over others getting snow.    No one tells me to STFU then.

One post about what I would love to happen in the future and then somehow I am pissing in their cheerios?   Am I that important??   If I said everyone was stupid for wanting snow and it will never snow again and this is not a cold pattern... that would be pissing in their cheerios.

Did you also have the largest crowd ever at your forum inauguration?

Just do a count of the likes on your cheerio yellowing posts, then you should understand the difference.  Timing, baby, timing...

Yeah, I would think so considering we'll being working on three straight weeks of an unseasonable pattern by that point.

It makes sense,  and I think most of us will be ready for it by then. Hopefully this is one of those springs with some sharp troughing and some good ridges in between.

The next few systems are ripe for CZ development once they move through. With temps being so on the edge, a CZ would greatly help drive the snow level down and drop surprising amounts even for those without elevation.

Almost all models show at least one, some multiple, CZs over the next few days. That potential alone has me excited.

This is where models struggle the most when we start bringing some onshore flow into the mix. Today will just help for tomorrow night with this nice shot of dry air. Some places will end up with more snow than predicted almost for sure of that. I have great shelter from the sw winds over here so that helps massive.

We come from the land of the ice and snow.

Yea interestingly the morning nws discussion removed their discussion about that. The overnight one was more interesting.

Didn’t he get like a foot last February.

That's what I remember. He and Alpine Experience had close to a foot or more. Which is actually more than any stand alone snow event I have seen in the metro area since 2008 ( we had 8-10" on 1/10/17).

Yes east side stretching down hwy 18 corridor including Bonney lake had 12-15 inches depending on location.

Beautiful and sunny today, with a ton of snow still on the ground (some melting, but to be expected). Temps are around 35 or 36.

35 here. Our snow is melting quickly in the sun, but we didn’t have much to melt. Only dropped to 26 this morning but it was cloudy overnight. This evening should drop off quickly.

God I hate those maps they use. 0-4 inches is pretty much all the same color of blue!

Honestly, I don’t understand how the NWS can’t have better graphic design, their 7-day outlooks on twitter aren’t appealing either. I could do better than that.

I know that’s obviously not their biggest worry, but still.

18z GFS continues to show minimal shadowing and higher snow totals with surface temps hovering on either side of freezing.

Sunday also looks snowy after initial rain in the morning.

Wow that and the icon look good for WWa. Let’s hope they are right. Hope the EUro is wrong. It could be considering it blew totals from last night.

Yeah, nice for central and northern King County on this run.
