It's ridiculous to leave out the Seattle area for the advisory.

Michael Snider mentioned the other day that he thinks it could be that they don’t like to pull any triggers anymore before the event is underway in case it busts it won’t mess with their “score rating” or something like that? But if they post a warning during the event it also doesn’t affect their score?

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Fox 13 just reminded us the roads will be warm. No accumulation on the roads. It's over. Bring on Summer

WTF?  It was 20 degrees here and the ground is frozen rock hard.  Talk about clueless!

It's worthless if they wait that long though.

Kind of weak for this area.  It could be right though.  At least we have a lot of chances after this.

What is amazing up north in the Vancouver area is that the ECMWF shows the event starting by noon today and yet tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. its still going strong up there while the main front has already cleared the Seattle area.

Good to know. I thought the precip was arriving several hours early but it’s good that it’s still on time.

This goes back to what I was saying the other day... when they forecast snow and it busts, they lose more trust with the general public than they do by waiting until an event is underway to issue warnings and nowcasts. When they are late to the party, it's just us weather nerds that get all uppity. The general public just sees it as surprise snow and doesn't really assign blame on the mets the way they do when they buy 700 rolls of toilet paper and gas up their generator only to have a snow forecast turn to 35 degrees and rain.

That being said, there's been quite an uproar in Kitsap County this week. A lot of roads went untreated last week due to the NWS downplaying the chance of snow. Even though most areas only got 0.1"-1" of snow, schools were shut down, roads were a mess, and hundreds of cars were in ditches. The county is pointing the finger directly at the NWS, saying they didn't know what was coming and couldn't get roads treated in time.

I am supposed to fly out of Seatac on Tuesday at 10:00 AM. Not rooting for snow Tuesday morning. My luck is awful though, we will probably get hammered.

12Z ECMWF says Tuesday morning might be problematic at SEA.    Your bad luck might pay off for everyone this time.  😀

Omg where do these idiots get this shitt. We just had a couple of nights with lows in the low to mid 20's and highs barely above freezing and some places not above freezing for 2 days. Roads are about as cold as they can get. The stupidity and inexperience in the weather forecasting world in this area is embarrassing.

Solar radiation is a real thing. Cloudy or not.

The ECMWF really gets the job done Tuesday morning.  925mb temps check out too.

Tuesday morning through 10 a.m.... that morning looks very snowy for King County.    Even though it also shows a strong SW wind developing.

I'm sure hoping the more southern low track of the GFS verifies.

But still.  The road beds are frozen and this will be happening at night.

Even with that burst of SW winds the ECMWF still drops it below freezing early Tuesday night.

Another run showing a roaring SW wind in Seattle on Tuesday afternoon with a really strong c-zone along the King/Snohomish line.

Some places will do well with both the main event and the C-Zone.
