I do find it funny that people whining that day about Portland were just fine, yet me whining back when Seattle was getting pummeled was just not okay. I get it, but looking back at the archives there was lot more gnashing of teeth than admitted.

I'm not surprised. Two winters ago, WeatherBell came out with a forecast that had the PNW warmer than normal and we all know the PNW had the coldest anomalies that Winter.

 

Long range forecast especially for the Winter are too unpredictable but when the exact opposite happens, then you start to wonder what the forecasters are all looking at. Hopefully people won't ignore what happened this Winter and take what occurred into account for future forecasts.

We don't have the funds or desire to pay $12 per mai tai at the bar. So we have our own mai tai mix in the condo (and IPAs from Costco). Our place is only 200 feet from the beach across a lawn. All tastes the same on the beach in the sun. And much more cost effective.

How many minutes is that to the beach by car?

It's been okay out here on the East side of town since that epic snowstorm. I've had 5 separate snowstorms totalling roughly ~18 inches over the past 2 winters. Interestingly they have occurred all in February, 3 last year and so far 2 this year. Hoping for one more snowstorm before winter ends.

I can't believe how variable the models are in the mid-range. This GFS run is frigid for this time of year and look at that FIREHOSE into California.

It’s moving in at least. Moderate rain and 41 here currently.

 

43/37 today. My 4th consecutive day below 45. Have actually only been above 45 degrees three days this month, with the warmest day being 49 back on the 2nd.

I hope you guys can pull off a sub-freezing high. Probably a stretch but I imagine that's something a strong gorge outflow can do down there.
