Some showers here today and tomorrow but sunny weather returns for the weekend. This is the best time of year for comfort.

Not a lot going on here lately, just pleasant spring weather with highs in the 50's and 60's and occasional showers. Even had some some snow flurries yesterday morning. Still getting chilly at night though with a low of 29 this morning. Vegetation is still really behind schedule with still nothing leafing out. So the start of our vegetable garden remains on hold for now.

Should see a bit more in the shower activity this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon into the night with even a bit of snow.

1-2" of snow is looking more likely tonight into tomorrow morning here. Somewhat chilly again these next couple of days with highs near 50 and lows in the mid 20's.

Looks like we'll see a nice warm-up this weekend with highs reaching the lower 70's. Only one 70 degree day on the year so far this year back on April 19th so some 70+ degree temps is welcome news and will hopefully finally jump start the vegetation here.

Day two with a high in the 40s. Temps the past 48 hours have ranged between 39 and 48. Tonight rain will turn to snow and likely accumulate a couple inches on the grass. One more very cool and wet day tomorrow.

Remarkably similar to last week.

Had some thunder and heavy downpours today. It hasn't really rained much since the end of April so todays nice soaking was quite refreshing. The warmth over the past few days has finally jump started the vegetation here with things finally starting to leaf out now.

First real chance at some severe storms here tomorrow afternoon. It looks to also kick off a pretty rainy/stormy period over the next 7-10 days with maybe even some overnight snow at times.

Looks outrageously wet here the next 2 weeks. Could get 3+" of rain, which is significant for this time of year.

Also may flirt with snow next week.

Looks like it did here about 2 months ago... and we were late this year.    Such a slow process... I would not do well there.   :)

Tim, mind sharing what precip totals the Euro shows for this area Tue/Wed?

Can't do a 48-hour map... which sort of sucks.

This is the highest total map for a 24-hour period that I could find.     There is a significant precip event on Monday afternoon and evening... then its dry by Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday.

Yeah...it's a long process here, especially this year. We're of course probably 2-3 weeks behind schedule as well. The cold snap we had in early May (dropped to 8F) really paused things again.

Caught a strike on camera from our living room window as one of several storms that rolled through here late this afternoon.

Dreary, wet and raw morning here. Currently 44º with steady moderate rain coming down. Less than 0.10" in the rain gauge on the day so far but it looks like we could end up with over an inch of precip today.

Looks like the rain should switch over to snow sometime overnight dropping an inch or two as well.

This looks like a typical forecast in the middle of winter here... have I mentioned that I could never make it in Bozeman?

Yeah, high of only 39F here yesterday which was a new record low, high for the date. The temps themselves haven't been that bad but the raging east winds that we've been having for the last 4 days is pretty brutal. Wind chills have been hanging around in the 20's.

We're definitely stuck in a cold ULL rut over the next 10-14 days. Tis the season. Warm season doesn't really begin until July here.

And ends a few weeks later.

A high of 39 is not bad in late May?   And it came with a raging east wind?    That is December weather.    My area seems like a tropical paradise in comparison and people complain here about it taking forever to warm up.   They need to spend a couple weeks in Bozeman.    ;)

DEN is down to 33 with snow now. Pretty ridiculous for this time of year. Looking like 1-2"+ is likely for much of the area.

If DEN measures more than 1", it will be the biggest snowfall this late since 1950.

BOU will need more than 1.1" to see the heaviest snowfall this late since 1951.

I screwed up, though, DEN saw 5" on 5/29/75, so it was the most snow this late since then. But looks like it was indeed the most for Boulder this late since 1951.

This has got to be the record coldest first five months of the year for up here. Widespread -7F to -10F departures are still present. Running about -4F here this month which is actually raising the yearly average. Pretty incredible for an El Nino.

I was flipping channels and saw Trump in Anchorage this afternoon and noticed in the background that all the trees were leafed out there.

Amazingly... I think even Anchorage is way ahead of Bozeman.

Last May had 0 sub-50 days, and just 4 sub-60 days here.

This May has had 5 sub-50 days and 10 sub-60 days here.

Big changes for this weekend, though. All 3 days should have highs in the 70s (Sunday near 80), before cooler weather returns next week.
