GFS leads the way to Euro greatness!!

So now the Euro and gfs are showing cold within 10 days. Win for the gfs so far.

Funny how this high latitude blocking has kind of come out of the blue.  The GFS has been hinting at it, but now it is really a factor.  This has epic potential now.  Makes it a lot more like 1969.

I really want the same results as you, only difference is I would rather have more snowfall than a long duration of cold anomolies.

GFS is clearly leading the way here. The fact that it has been super consistent is very hard to discount.

I have a subscription to weatherbell and can't find those graphics.

Funny he talked about it, and Ryan Maue himself actually replied saying it was too bad he didn't subscribe to weathermodels.com for a cheaper price, which Maue cofounded, but Albrecht replied that he wanted to share more than 5 images a day. Maue wished him a happy retirement. I subscribe to weathermodels.com and enjoy it

Dramatic improvements tonight with the 00z GFS Op, 00z EURO op. Let's keep this going. Pattern develops in 2-3 days. All eyes on the low Day 4 to 5(8-9mb weaker) we need it to continue the weaker trend as we saw on tonight's runs. Cautiously optimistic

Looks like every model has trended much better for snow and cold tonight. Probably the most confident I've felt yet in this pattern. Still a few days out...too early for specifics but it's looking really good right now.

Jay purchased a subscription to WeatherBell after first thinking it wasnt worth it and now he is like a kid in a candy store.

 

Wasn't it weathermodels.com that Jay said he wasn't interested in?

The Euro shows a series of surface lows tracking inland in the 7 to 10 day period.  Huge lowland snow potential.  The evolution suggests everyone may get in on it, at least down to NW OR.

The ECMWF still has a strange reluctance to bring the really cold air in.  Kind of suspect IMO.  The 500mb stuff is awesome.

I do think Washington will get their turn first, followed by maybe Portland and areas south. I'm increasingly confident that the PDX area will see at least a few flakes...

Regardless of any lowland snow, the mountains anywhere from 700-1000’ is primed to get buried.

He wasn't interested in weathermodel.com. But I don't see any reference to Jay saying he wasn't interested in Weatherbell. Your original post said Jay wasn't interested in Weatherbell. My apologies if i'm not understanding something.
