I recall many many years ago, when I traveled to Poland and remember my uncle and his neighbors bale hay multiple times a year for their cows and farm animals. It's a very community-like feel out there as everyone helps one another and trades for food or supplies. Do you have contracts with vendors to sell your alfalfa? Or is it just for personal use? Used to be for personal use, but now we sell most of it to a nearby farming cousin who rents the field a year at a time, and they do all of the harvesting. My sister's family used to rent it before they moved to Nebraska. I sold my livestock a few years ago so don't need the hay. I don't own the land and just used to buy the hay from my brother who farms.

Black Hole
Model trends over the last day have slightly delayed the onset of the heat. I still think its coming, but the low pressure area focused northeast of here as well as the strip of negative height anomalies extending this way look to hold on a little longer. chescowxman
Some showers are crossing the county this morning and some spots could see as much as 0.25" of rain but suspect most spots end up with a bit less than that. Near normal temps look to continue for much of the rest of the week with additional shower chances on Friday. Records for today: High 96 (1945) / Low 43 (1978) / Rain 1.47" (1902) Quote All historical weather data analytics posted by me is specifically for the climate of Chester County PA. We continually analyze the actual raw non-adjusted NWS certified Coop observed climate data for Chester County. There have been no post observation adjustments to any of the detailed analytics. All data is sourced from trained NWS observers and spotters. The life blood of science is to challenge what is thought to be known. The concept that climate change etc. is somehow “settled science” describes a religion - a belief system that does not welcome challenges. We should all continue to challenge science!
