60 and cloudy here now....lots of showers up in the cascades but nothing in the south Puget sound lowlands yet.

63 and sunny here... its been sunny all day.

Looks like two solid marine layer days coming up tomorrow and Wednesday so I am glad to see the sun today.

EPS is in fairly good agreement with the operational for the long weekend, and beyond.

What was shown to be sharp ridging with a deep trough digging offshore is now zonal or slightly SW flow. I think part of the reason for the big change was the trough that was progged to pump up the ridge is now being advertised as a cut off ULL that drifts to the SW out over the Pacific rather than staying near the coast. This is the sort of thing models tend to have a lot of trouble with so big future swings still would not surprise me.

As we have seen with the last couple EPS runs, it is possible for even that model and its mean to waffle around quite a bit as operational runs change.

What a load of crap. You are psychotic and seem to be getting worse. You are constantly playing this passive-aggressive preference war even though no one really cares any more.

So many Trump-like qualities.

To be fair to Jesse, your posting style is authoritarian at times. Like when you say the Gfs will be right and the Ecmwf will cave to it. You were right this time but it came off as autocratic.

Fair enough.

That is different than this preference-based war though. Which is just a waste of time.

Kool circulation on radar.

Speaking of Kool. Much more so down here as opposed to UP THERE.

I guess the "warmer than normal" May advertised by the weather channel just ain't happening...

Warmer than normal May is already locked in.

It’s been a warmer than normal month so far. Just not the 4-5+ degrees above normal you’d like to see.

PDX is +3 for May as of yesterday. The fact that you would think the month has been running cool kinda underscores how warped your expectations are. ;)

Just a gorgeous day... completely sunny and 67 here. I would be very happy with sunny or partly cloudy and 60s for the holiday weekend. Alas... it will be raining for most of Sunday and Monday.

Oh well... you win some and you lose some.

At the risk of being thought of as warped, I'll point out that Thursday sure looks like it will be decidedly end-of-Octoberish...

Well Thursday sure looks like it will be decidedly end-of-Octoberish...

Cool days happen, even in warm Mays.

Where are you even located right now? I keep imagining your house/van parked in front of the casino at Warm Springs for some reason. Probably won’t be too bad over there.

And 7 or 8 days ago was decidedly warm for even July. Sh*t happens. Keep your expectations low until July in this climate.

67/51 today. Looks like all the rainfall in western WA will stay west of highway 16 on the kitsap peninsula and South of Olympia.

D**n! I was close...

I’m not sure why you’re worried about a cool and cloudy day over here then. Will probably just translate to sun and maybe some wind over there. Not a heatwave but temps shouldn’t be terribly cold. The van has a heater right?

Had to bite the bullet and take my PC to a computer store to swap out my gear. I would do it myself but I have very shaky hands so I would break the parts. Needless to say, it needed upgrading.

Some rain and 57F.

It's actually been quite cool and cloudy here, there was a very heavy downpour that lasted about an hour earlier. Thinking I may need to move a little lower in elevation until Saturday. I'm at about 2,400 feet now...

You must be a little up Badger Creek or the White River then. Pretty area, especially this time of year when everything’s still green. Post pics if you can!

I would suggest Cottonwood Canyon state park on the lower John Day River if you are looking for a slightly warmer and drier microclimate over there.

Thunder heard just moments ago! It doesn't look like a big storm so I may or may not get pics/video.
