This map is misleading because the Seattle area is now well above normal including SEA and WFO SEA. This is because it includes stations with partial and spotty data in the Seattle area and the South Sound. Yikes, didn't know it was that dry this month just east of the Cascades. There were a couple very hot days and lots of moderately cool days which balanced them out. This spring and summer has been just about completely devoid of interesting weather in this area. Can’t even score a red line on radar moving up through the valley this year. I guess they are about to finish plowing the road to the summit. Utah’s Cache Valley (where I went to college) still holds that prize in my book. Amazing dark-sky star-gazing, however. As usual... the details of the patterns in the summer matter way more up here than down there in terms of tangible weather. Just the way it is. Sort of like how easy it is for my area to get snow in the winter while you guys have to fret model details at 240 hours out.
