00z GFS is much worse if you want a SSW. But it seems to be having a hard time with this regime so, shruggie.

The persistence on the gfs to rebuild some western US ridging is impressive.

El Niño can do that.

Though usually it’s a 2nd half of winter thing more so than early on.

Since a SSW is probably the only hope we have for some arctic air and snow in the PNW this winter, I do want one.

The Euro does show some potential... but still far from a lock yet.10hpazonalecmwf.png.ffa905d8c58f28294e38c0ce9f66297e.png

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

I lived there once. Let’s just say it was not for me.

I am not going to specify who, but someone in this group feels Tri Cities should be a bucket list destination.

Because it can be a nice weekend getaway for golf and wineries?     Every summer weekend there are limos full of wedding parties from this side of the state doing winery hopping.   Its not like we are staying at a Motel 6 with bullet holes in the walls.    I am sure you will make some smart a*s social comment about privilege while you jet set around the country for fun.   But its not like we are the first people from the west side to ever think of going to the other side of the mountains for a weekend.   🤣

I wouldn't want to live there... but there are some fun things to do over there particularly when its gloomy over here.   I love that we have a totally different climate so close.

It’s a joke. You gotta lighten up, it is still technically the weekend after all.

Wow. This would be the 7th highest crest if this verified. Almost every road out of Duvall would close if this happened as well.

Slightly off topic, but seeing this did unlock a core memory. Many years ago, I'm guessing the fall/winter of either 1998-1999 or 1999-2000, there was a farm going to auction in the flood plain near Carnation. I was a high school kid hired by the auction house (they were from Whatcom County) to go down and power wash all of the farm equipment to make it presentable for sale. Flooding was forecast to begin later that night, but the farmhouse/barn sat on the high part of the property above the flood plain, so we were never in any danger. I got about 2/3 of the way done when the auctioneer came running and said to load up my gear, we had to leave. Apparently the river rose much faster than they expected, and all the roads leading to the farm were already flooding. We were still able to drive out with water lapping at the truck's tires, but it would have been by boat if we had waited too much longer.

I hadn't thought about that in years.

Totally lightened!   Obviously you don't hate the desert and very dry areas which can be geographically beautiful.   You love the eastern Oregon desert areas.   So your never-ending hatred of that area must be related socio-economic issues.   There is no other way to explain it.     Very sad Andrew.    :(

Well this is not good.   The Snoqualmie Falls chart only shows low end moderate flooding but I know the flooding scenarios farther downstream are different than at the falls.
