Looks good for PDX

Don't think this track could look much better for PDX.

With how dynamic that feature is, would be fun to have the precip rates absolutely explode over us. There is probably going to be at least some isolated spot or two with significant accumulations from this. I don't really buy the widespread 2-3 inch thing the Euro snow map is showing though. That map is often bs when the temp is that marginal.

We all know Randy has to get in on lots of snow... it’s destiny.

Nah, the support for a strong ridge is starting to evaporate and we are going to be dependent on the axis of that lobe not making a detour to Alberta.

Looks great for Calgary though.

WIND!!

It's really picked up here too.  It was kinda interesting, when I took the dogs out, I was getting hit with alternating blasts of warm and cold air.  I don't think I've ever experienced that before.

True, but shockingly they all survived, even the oak on the left in the 4th pic that got absolutely devastated. Of course the ash trees probably won't make it a decade with the Ash borer, and his two acres of douglas fir in the back aren't doing well, but pretty much every tree in these pics is recovering even though they bare the scars. He has one oak not pictured here that got hammered in 2021, 2008, and 2004, but is still going strong. And probably over 300 years old now.

Precip is more suppressed on Friday morning compared to 12Z run.   Swing and a miss by me.

ECMWF has trended colder for three runs now.  GEFS way colder than the GFS.  The GFS has to get colder on future runs.

Temps late Friday afternoon... definitely colder to the south.   About the same as the 12Z run for Seattle.

Trended towards the 12z GraphCast which had the southern most solution today.

Speaking of trees,  there was a huge fir 2 Miles down the road from my house that got cut down last year because the owner thought it would fall. Little did the fukin idiot know it was the largest Doug fir in Washington state on private property! 11.8 feet diameter at breast height.  I was sick to my stomach.

Yeah, hopefully the cold air makes it this fast here, that would be wonderful
