Pretty rare to see a setup this good for large amounts of sleet.  The most I've ever seen was December 2022, but nothing near the level down there today.

I literally got mad for a second hearing about the “southward trend” until I saw it was for the mid week storm

Heaviest sleet shower of the day.  16.9 in Gladstone.  Fun day.  A two inch layer of snow on top of this would be a treat but probably not in the cards.  This is one helluva an event.

17.7 with wind picking back up, more snow now, some sleet.  If I can make it down to 16 at some point, this will be my coldest day ever by average...

Ironically...my coldest day ever was on today's date in 2017 at 18.8*.

According to most of the mesoscale models, the temp at the mid levels should be peaking right about now, and will begin slowly inching downward soon. The whole column should be below freezing some time between 2pm and 4pm. We're almost through it! I have a feeling there will be some very healthy radar returns left for the taking after we all turn to 100% snow.

We put all the food from the fridge outside to defrost the fridge and the sparrows came out in mass for it.

At Meadows you could ride from the cold 9 degrees up to the balmy 30!

There are very interesting changes in the NAM for the mid week system at the 500mb level.  That thing still has real potential.

Pretty crazy day in North Bend (Ken's Truck Town area).  Currently 15 with frequent gusts over 50.

1.5". Unfortunately the bigger flakes turned to sleet pretty much right after my post. Probably the peak of the warm nose right now.

I have never seen such a back and forth snow and sleet event like this here. The mid levels here are just right on that line between snow and sleet and keep waffling around. 

Only other time I've seen something like this was in the gorge maybe back in 2016 where I saw the most bizarre mix of over a foot of sleet, snow and ZR all blended together. They were layered in such a way where you could tell the P types were changing back and forth constantly as it fell.
