The snow maps are wrong, they show very little IMBY, throw them out, let's try again tomorrow.

I’m right there with you…I think they will improve for us tomorrow!

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

@Cascadia_Wx I know this comment is just feeding you, but why do you give everything I post a negative reaction. I can understand when someone posts something about warmth you'll post the sad reaction, and although I don't agree with it, it atleast makes sense. But now if I just post a snow map, or ask someone how often they get a blizzard, etc etc, you'll give me a weenie reaction. It makes no sense. I know the reactions don't affect me, I don't really care about them, just I'm curious if for some reason you have beef with me no matter what I post, and why is that.

Don't trigger Tim please with these types of comments.  Also, if the react emojis don't really affect you, what is the point of this post?   No emotes should ever affect anyone enough to say anything.

It’s too bad the Euro doesn’t agree with the UW-WRF on that beautiful low track with an Astoria landfall.

Friday AM seems like a safer bet for snowfall down to sea level in the Seattle area.

I’m getting excited but it could still all blow up and be a nothing burger for me. Lots of folks on here should score something though.

46/34 day here so far. Kinda blah with light showers at times and breezy SW winds with slowly rising temps all afternoon and evening. Not a huge fan of these warm fronts that lack offshore flow ahead of them. Hopefully the next round of troughing is a little more dynamic, but we’ve still got to get through another day of overachieving temps tomorrow. I’ll say 55 at the absolute coolest for PDX.

Yeah, nothing really revving my engine. Gonna be tough to get below 34 with any of the precip coming up. Just too marginal an airmass.

I think it's pretty obvious that almost none of the models get the coast.

I swear they changed some parameter that completely messed that up. It never used to throw out massive foot+ snowstorms for the Coast and lowlands but now that happens regularly when nothing close to that has any chance of happening.

I wonder if they adjusted some boundary layer issues in an attempt to improve snow forecasts in continental climates but it messed up snow forecasts here near the Coast. Seems especially egregious in cold onshore flow patterns like this where the models just assumed nearly all precip in the mid-upper 30's will fall as accumulating snow.

Fair. I guess I'm spoiled, I want more than 2 feet out of this. When you work at a ski resort that regularly sees large snowfalls, you start getting disappointed by a few inches back home, I need large snowstorms for true satisfaction. December 2024-Jan 2025 record cold and snowy period. We're gonna need everyone else in the country to dig our a**'s out of the snow and give us food. Every river will freeze, the Puget Sound will ice over, and we're gonna have the whitest Christmas ever (excluding a racist albino family's christmas, can't get whiter than that)

And then we get a summer 10 degrees warmer than the record warmest summer.
