Amazing storm in Bend today. Over .5-.75” across a lot of town. Near quarter size hail, tons of CG, and even hail fog. Going on almost two hours of hearing thunder.
Just because you haven’t had much troughing doesn’t mean we haven’t had our share of ridging too. It’s not always a perfectly inverse relationship, obviously. Especially as wavelengths change throughout the year.
As I’m sure you know, there are many ways you could keep a generally troughy pattern out there mid month without an amplified ridge sitting squarely over the I-5 corridor the whole time. The fact that it had to be one or the other is a false dilemma.
After fighting 2 World Wars over hate (among other uncivil behavior), you’d think we would all realize it is a non productive strategy.
I did research on a book some 5+ years ago and learned that approx. 71 million people died in the war…just the 2nd World War. Not the build up to it.
I cannot wrap my mind around that. 7 million (10% of the total) were Jews that perished in WW2 and that’s beyond me as well.
Astounding and mind numbing numbers.
Try imaging that many people. .
I cannot. Hate is not a strategy
I’m sure the duration will be shortened. Haven’t been able to hold a western ridge beyond 1 week all year.
The CCKW has already trended faster across guidance, it probably won’t be long until the reversion to the default pattern shows up in the clown range.
