12/16 - 12/18 Plains/Lakes Major Winter Storm

How is the snow falling in NE??  Looks pretty decent on radar as the defo band gets going.

1.5" here of straight pixy dust. Blowing around pretty good and the freezing drizzle from last night has put a nice glaze down everywhere. It's extremely slick around town. I'm happy that I at least got something.

I would say that amount and description is spot on. It is fun watching this snow dance through our neighborhood. Even some minor drifting.

Had just at 3" of snow at my place today in Topeka KS.  That, my friends, is my largest snowfall since Feb 4, 2014.

Seems the winter has gotten off to a good start with lots of systems to track so far and more showing up on the models. Hopefully a lot of snow to go around this winter.
