LOL meanwhile it 43 at SEA. Euro was correct in the warmth of the southerlies, but not in the strength of the return of the northerlies.

Winds at Seattle switched to W rather than S from earlier, it’s trying to go N now…. At shoreline it’s NE. The converging winds are around the north Seattle area.

I think you may be seeing snow at 10am…maybe even a little sooner. It’s moving south faster than I thought.

It is 8:35 and like magic it is all (wet) snow, zero rain! The roommate stays home. I win, we all win! Now let the northerlies barrel on down south.

Tim said the low is going east through Everett so it will be southerlies only for us south folks. Too bad.

Low must be passing between here and Everett right now.   It is insanely nasty here... wind is whipping rain against the windows and the snow we got last night has liquified.    Definitely seems to be farther south than the ECMWF showed though based on observations in the Seattle/Everett area.

My response was 100% sarcasm by the way just to poke Tim. I think both of us will see a switch and some snow.

Definitely seems like the backwash is going to be more significant.

Same here. Except we don’t have any snow to liquify.

12z GFS is less aggressive with the warmup. 00z last night had most of PDX Metro above freezing by Friday 10am. The 12z GFS now has PDX still in the teens at the same time. Good to see as we get closer to the event.
