My response was 100% sarcasm by the way just to poke Tim. I think both of us will see a switch and some snow.

Oh, no, man, I 100% expect to just see rain today. Really. I am at 43*right now, I do not see my area dropping enough to see legit snowfall today. I will happily eat my words later though, if I am proven wrong!

This is not even 7 minutes of accumulation. It’s coming down hard! 32.7 now.

Pretty rare for it to be snowing in Seattle and 40 degrees with sideways rain in North Bend.  😀

If the rain/snow line stalls out just north of us..

Not a chance in this case.

Love how it's sticking to the pavement so soon.

Reminds me of the switchover in Dec 2008.

That was epic. I remember teaching that year and telling the kids on a Tuesday (I believe) before break to take everything home because I had a feeling that they wouldn't be returning, and sure enough, that was it for the year.

Does this really feel the same?

Looks to be short lived though as the back edge of this intense precip is just passing the Olympics. Should drop a couple inches on top of the wet slush we had before drying out.

It's supposed to last for a while yet.

It looks like the precip will end sharply. Do you think there will be convergence ? Btw it is switching to snow at work in port orchard with a north wind

Not much convergence it appears... but arctic front gets going this evening.

12z GFS is less aggressive with the warmup. 00z last night had most of PDX Metro above freezing by Friday 10am. The 12z GFS now has PDX still in the teens at the same time. Good to see as we get closer to the event.

Help me understand this, if there's down sloping and 30mph winds out of the east how the heck is that arm nose in Clackamas county going to happen at the surface?

Bummed to be missing this, but I’m having almost as much fun tracking it from the couch in Chicago. My family thinks I’m insane.
