westMJim
Still waiting for the expected snow to start. I went to the south side of town yesterday and boy there is quite a difference in the snow on the ground from here on the NW side to the SW side. Here the ground is mostly covered (with very noticeable bare sports) but on the south side of town the ground is mostly bare with some covered spots. The official low at GRR was 18° here at my house I got down to 17° it is now 20° and still no snow falling.

Ofc, if we had an actual SLP it'd be pulling some warmth up ahead of it, but this doesn't get amped til it's dumping on New England. Niko
This storm is going neg-tilt by evening. Noaa:Height falls associated with the system are very impressive as it pivots aroundbase of main longwave trough axis and allows for negatively tiltedconfiguration into tonight. More heavy snow tomorrow (Christmas Day) Activity shifts east late evening into the overnight as the stormsystem lifts quickly in the northeast CONUS. However, re-enforcingArctic air will shift east into area on Christmas Day and lead to arather nasty day. Conditions appear rather favorable for impressiveLake Effect snow squalls to shift east into area from Lake Michiganas equilibrium heights on the order of 11-12kft will allow for goodconvective depth and locally heavy snow rates. Trajectory with thepassage of next frontal boundary suggest this activity should focusin the M-59 to I-94 region where local amounts of several incheswill be possible.
