The SREF temps. The way this wind is exploding south and the N-S configuration of the jet until the Calif. border, not a lot to stop the upper air flow at this point.

That's the way it should always be.

18z NAVGEM trended towards the EURO, UKMET and GEM solutions. Shows snow arriving Tuesday afternoon and doesn't let up until Wednesday morning. Looks like the deformation band just basically stalls over the Northern Willamette Valley, this could lead to huge snow accumulations. Onto the 00z runs tonight!

Looks like there could be one last gasp of snow in a while as some moisture rotates from the ENE toward the area.  Shouldn't be any problems with sticking now.

Wow could be a classic setup that hits the entire valley, gotta think with outflow even places out to the coast will be affected.  Looks a lot like 2014.

Been bouncing between either side of 40 degrees with sun all morning. Now sitting at 39 with a light north wind.

Really hoping we can score out of this later this week. What a let down today has been (for my area)...

It's been quite a bit colder, probably due to cloud cover, here.  Mostly hanging in the 34 to 36 range for much of the day.

Will it hit central sounders? Looks like our only chance since wed system looks to be moving south.

Edit Tues system not wed

Looks like mostly south of Seattle.

Let's hope the Euro keeps showing snow for us from the mid week system.

Snow just started back up again. This looks like a nice shower, Looks like a little bit of enhancement on radar as it hits the hills.

36/30 so far today.

The snow sure did a number here as well...my poor large Willow is no more.

That tree doesn’t look healthy at all. Any tree brought down by wet snow was already structurally compromised.

18z NAVGEM shows a BC slider similar to the ICON on Thursday. It would be another snow maker but this one I'm less enthusiastic about since the EURO didn't show it but you never know.

Just about a perfect track. Plus the dumbbelling on the back end could create some persistent banding. Bigtime potential.

Would have been more fun to take an axe to it.

I hate working with rotting trees. You never know if/when it’s just going to explode all over the place.

It was quite healthy and always grew at a enormous rate during the growing seasons. Even looking at the split the wood seemed healthy...but I’m not a tree expert...turf yes, trees no haha!

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

We used up our last trick for getting snow here and ended up with nothing on the ground going into the cold snap.  It snowed 4 times...out of those it stuck 3 times, but melted off pretty fast.  Pretty bad luck for this setup.  I actually think the cold air having to advect into BC before it could get here is what hurt us.  If the cold had already been in place it would have really helped our cause.  I think the 500mb pattern was good for a lot more than what we saw.

The upper level pattern had a good snow-making look to it this time around (this wasn't a backdoor event), although the 850mb temperatures in the BC interior were suspiciously high for the amount of cold air shown to make it to the coast. The best event in Victoria last year came last February when the Arctic air built up in the Fraser Valley for an extend duration ahead of the event. The outflow coming off the BC North Coast is something I like to look at for snow potential down here and it was marginal this time around. On Feb 23, 2011 Prince Rupert had a high-low of 27F/16F, yesterday Prince Rupert had a high/low of 36F/28F.

Heavy shower moved through about 45 min ago.  Temp quickly dropped from my high of 39 down to 34 in about 20 min.  Wet snow/rain mix turned quickly to snow and I ended up with a good dusting of wet snow.  Moisture has dried up and temp has crept down to 33.  Beautiful while it lasted albeit sloppy.  Going to be a messy night when this all freezes up.
