Thanks! Yeah, anywhere BUT Chicago to Detroit corridor. Tho CPC again with a wk-2 tease storm per their Friday map. Just like this week's storm included us from that range. When it's not your winter it's not your winter and little to be done about it except hope for spring not to be delayed like last year! M-22 haven't been here in quite some years.

Very warm and wet winter here in KC. Perennials and cool season weeds are are popping everywhere. Soil temps are warm for this time of year and we there is no frost line...

IS winter over for KC?? Never really got going....pattern looks very active, but, the cold never really sets up shop this far south on the current data.

Is this a major model bug? I don't think I've seen one cut up as hard as this on a model before. Kind of weird to see a low track completely north like that, isn't it? Animation has it going pure north basically following the Dakotas/Minnesota border.

Now that the -NAO is being modeled in the longer range, expect some whacky runs in the near future.  I wouldn’t be surprised to see a powerhouse to open up MAR and cut.

"Fantastic, Ferocious Finish to FEB"...I could see the Northwoods with some Stupendous amounts of Snow over the next 9-10 days.  Sorta reminds me of FEB '17 or was it '18 that dumped snow over and over in the same areas. I remember @Madtown and our other member who has a cottage up there showing a 3 Foot snow depth up near Rhinelander, WI...or....was it Hayward, WI.  Nevertheless, that's gonna be the hot spot with the next storm dialing up for next week.

If you don't like the weather at anytime this week...just wait a few hours. A very changeable pattern for the rest of the week. We picked up 0.15" of rain overnight and will see another round of rain this PM. While amounts will be light there could be some thunder and high wind gusts later today with the frontal passage. Colder tonight and tomorrow with more rain arriving tomorrow night then very warm on Thursday with highs well into the 60. Temperatures then fall below normal by Friday and Saturday with a slight chance of some snow on Saturday before warming back up above normal by Sunday.

Records for today: High 77.7 (2018) / Low Zero (1903) / Precipitation 2.49" (1902) Snow 12.3" (1947)

I was late getting up today and I am still tired. The official H/L yesterday at Grand Rapids was 41/26 there was no rain or snow fall. And there was 46% of possible sunshine. The current temperature here at my house is 28 and there is some light snow falling. For today the average H/L is 35/21 the record high of 66 was set in 1930 and the record low of -8 was set in 1968 the record snow fall of 6.0” was set way back in 1898. The question now is just how much sleet and or ice will we receive from this upcoming event.

Exactly! I like when it's clear soon after a snow so I can see where it tracked. Earlier today I could still see a little bit of snow over my area on visible satellite, but the ground is mostly bare now though there are plenty patches of snow left.

There was a reported 1” of snow on the ground yesterday at 7 AM. During my coughing spell the low fell to 22 here and now it is 23 with clear skies. For today the average H/L is now up to 35/20 the record high of 63 was in 2018 and the record low of -13 was set in 1966 and again in 2015. The record snow fall amount of 7.1” fell in 2011. We still have our eyes on the system for mid week.

I had my last bout with covid (likely omicron variant) a little over a year ago. I had an appointment over Zoom with a doctor in Florida for the first time ever, but by the time my meds arrived on around day 5 I was feeling better and never needed to take them. -10 wind chill here with light snow blowing sideways. We always look forward to thunderstorms.

At 7:30 AM this morning in Shawnee KS., where my brother lives, it is 61 degrees.  The difference in weather between KC and Central Nebraska can sometimes be extreme.  He will text me and can't believe how cold it is here or how much snow we have gotten, and the distance is only about 5 hours apart.

I still have a somewhat runny nose. Yesterday the official H/L was 39/26 there was 0.01” of rain/snow fall. There was a reported 26 minutes or 4% of possible sunshine. There overnight low here in MBY was 26 and there was enough snowfall to cover the ground. At the current time it is cloudy and 28 here in my yard. For today the average H/L is now up to 36/21. The record high of 67 was set in 1930 and the record low of -7 was set in 1936. Todays record snow fall amount of 4.9” was set in 2010. Drive safely today and lets hope not too many lose their power.

Some rain possibly mixed with sleet to start beginning this afternoon with temps in the low 40's. Temps should start to warm toward morning on Thursday and highs should soar well into the 60's by afternoon. Then a cold front passes tomorrow night with temps falling to below normal both Friday and Saturday. High temps on Saturday may stay below freezing all day. We could also see some snow showers or flurries on Saturday. We should start to warm right back up again by Sunday.

Getting a good soaker today, soil is saturated and streams are flowing.  Looks like last year's drought is a thing of the past in western Missouri.

Gosh, there are soo many good spots.  If you want greek food I recommend going to Greek Town just west of the hwy I-90 and check out: https://www.athenachicago.com/. This is prob a more sit down and will take a while.  There are plenty of spots to get a quick Gyro...Greek Town Gyro's is one of them on Halsted.  Was one of my late night spots years ago when I was younger and in the bar scene.

Totally agree, even know its been a snowless winter for the most part, the good news is that we have seen well above average moisture in Missouri erasing the drought for sure.

I coach our 7th Grade Boys Basketball team.  Our last game was Monday vs. Broken Bow.  I was talking to their coach about their snow and snow days.  They have had quite a winter in Custer County, much more than us in my area.  He said they have used 6 snow days.  However, they don't build in days or hours, districts decide, into their school calendar.  They will be making up all 6.  I told him we have used 4 with 2 late starts.  We build a lot of extra hours into our schedule, and I've heard we have 1 or 2 days days left, then we start making up time.

Gotta say this winter has been just what the doctor  ordered, .51 rain today. Since Dec 1st have had 6 rains of either side  of 1 inch, amazing  for this part of Iowa to get this much precip particularly  rain in winter. And have had 23" of snow on 7 to 9 events.. Have plowed or salted  many properties  10 to 12 times (12 plowable events my avg winter).  All of this while saving on the heat bill!
