March 2019 Weather Discussion in the PNW

BLI snowman

Recommended Posts

Got below freezing here again last night. So now it looks like after a brief showing of spring that it may tumble back to what we’ve been seeing again huh...It’d be interesting to see snow in April...not like it hasn’t happened before but it’s looking more and more like winter has delivered the last shot of snow

Hoping for 70s not snowflakes

Nature setting us up for some April snow ...why not :)

I don’t want it. The idea of April snow to me is depressing. Who wants every plant to just be frozen up while spring is in full swing? Just one of the many reasons why I wouldn’t be able to hack the Midwest.

Thank god I don’t live by that convergence zone. Just the thought of snow on April 18 makes me nauseous.

Yeah, we had what seemed like multiple chances I'd figured we'd have at least one decent season close-out event. Even something along the lines of Feb 27, 2017 would have been nice.

We did have our big event on the 12th though. That event was nothing to scoff at.

I hear Barrow, Alaska is pretty nice. Plenty of high paying oil jobs. -11°F right now with blowing snow. It’s paradise for some of you guys.

I heard it's going to snow in April.

Went to the Grand Canyon yesterday. It's amazing, but it is kind of what you expect. Overwhelmingly massive on a scale that defies comprehension. Also I cannot imagine how busy it is in the summer. It was packed at the South Rim on a cold windy March day...

Went over to Wupatki National Monument on the way back to Flagstaff. Really enjoyed the nice walk through the ancient Pueblos.

Perhaps. I never gave you crap for posting on vacation that I can remember. It's my wife's vacation anyway, I came along because I had to, trying to make the most of it. Yesterday was a decent day, Northern Arizona is incredible. This trip will go downhill fast when we go back to Phoenix tomorrow night. But first post in about 48 hours isn't bad. lol

Phil can shove it with his magical snow comments... because this snow has survived in the March sun through many days in the 40s and even low 50s yesterday. I wish it was not possible... but I assure you it is.

Let’s see him make 400 more today then perhaps we can start comapring.

I was offline for long stretches during the days... my post were focused during down time in the mornings and evenings when everyone was either sleeping or watching Netflix on their phones and winding down.

Wow you’ve got a lot of snow up in north bend still and it’s mid March it’ll probably take a week or a couple weeks for it to be completely gone

It will not disappear completely until we have a long stretch with the dewpoint above freezing... preferably in the 40s.

This mornings view as I was leaving the house this morning. Going nowhere quickly.

You have magical snow too!

I am sure it was only in the low 20s for a high at your house yesterday... you are just lying about highs in the 40s.    ;)

Good chance we’ll be near or at 70 next Monday.

There is little doubt now that some of the snow here will survive the week and I might get to experience a temp of 70 with some snow still left in my yard. That will be a first for me here.
