In Leavenworth for the Christmas lights and it's 34 and raining. Really hoping to drop a couple degrees and see if we can pick up a dusting of snow because right now it's just nasty out. Still quite a bit of wet snow on the ground from the big snowstorm on Thursday.

He misunderstood my post.  I said a flatter ridge around New Years would lead to a better outcome for us a few days later because it allows a future high pressure cell to piggy back over it which causes an amplified offshore block.  Phil knows I'm not that dumb.

What exactly is a flat ridge compared to a regular ridge?

It should switch over. I checked out web cams surprised to see so many people there on sunday.

We come from the land of the ice and snow.

The airstrip near there is 33 degrees at 1200ft so shouldn't be long.

It was an absolute madhouse.

Hope you're right.

Looks like this may be a complete fail for the Oregon Cascades. Radar returns seem to be dwindling already and more focused over the valley...

Looks like PDX is about to surpass 4” for the month.

At least we can put years like 1976-77 to bed now.

We already had because December 1976 was quite a bit cooler.

Right now the numbers are frighteningly similar to December 2004. Let us hope we end up having the January that 2005 was supposed to have!

That 5-10 inches prediction is aging as well as R&R whiskey.

The 2004 similarities have been STUNNING since September.

The directional flow totally failed my area. Not a sprinkle last couple days.

If you say you could be incorrect or wrong why are you so adamant about it not being able to happen? Just curious.

Because nothing is 100% certain is this business. I’ve been humbled by Mother Nature on more than one occasion.

Do you think this is how seasonal analogs work?

This December will end up way wetter than 2004 for much of WA, at least.

You do realize you act like you are 100% correct in this stuff, right?

This doesn’t compute. Either I’m right or wrong..how I act holds no relevance.

All this infinite wisdom. I have the answers.

Apparently you do too, via your secret HAARP source.

Always wondered where your humility came from. ;)

Lol. More like a insatiable desire for a rematch. When I’m wrong I take eons to run through reanalyses and figure out what the hell happened. I don’t take it lightly.

Down to 38 degrees. Sounds like Jan 1950 is back on...Sure looked that way when I popped into Target this morning...bare shelves and things disheveled on many isles! Prepare now!

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!
