We actually did last night.  I just moved here from Brownsville, TX in July so I am looking forward to what happens here.  I imagine it snows here a little :)

Welcome to the forum and you will Love La Pine and the surrounding area.

No need to garden over there with so many outdoor activities at your hand!

This would easily be the coldest January blast since 1972 and maybe even further back than that.  Wow!

This is vodka on the rocks.  I hope we can get some snow going into it though.

GFS is onto something right now, or on something right now. One of the two.

Better lesson: Don't be emotionally invested in anything that is forecasted outside of 2 days unless it is closer to climate averages and do not get involved with disseminating snow maps unless you are a trained professional.

In reality I wake up in the morning ( day of event)  and slowly draw the curtain back to see if it happened.    Many disappointing moments in life doing this...with a few scores as well :)

Fairly decent Fraser outflow for Sunday. Nothing too crazy.

I will point out that the GFS is an ATROCIOUS model for outflow winds (at least by what I've seen for the past two years). Always under represents wind gusts, for some reason, particularly the Gorge and Fraser winds.

Thanks to all who responded to this.

Newbie lucker here. Joined this group because of last Feb.

I have trouble understanding the graphs and jargon used in this group. It would great if someone can clear those for newbies like me. For starters what is the meaning of the following terms:

1. GFS

2. Euro

3. 18z, 12z, 0z

4.  Alaskan heights?

.....I will have more.
