That blob of moisture is 5-10miles too far north. I’m screwed, it’s getting wasted on the heat flats of Skagit.

I can smell the sulfur from here.

I am watching it closely for you... does not seem to be shifting south. It has to know what must happen when Randy is in the vicinity!

That cell over Whidbey is probably the one to watch.

It rains all the time at Snoqualmie in the winter without river flooding. By time the snow levels rise on Sunday... its basically dry.

My point is that saying flooding is going to become a concern is a little misleading. Its very localized in one area based on one short event. And that river floods floods every time someone sneezes. The NWS has to highlight it... it's in their coverage area. But flooding is not a concern at all for the vast majority of the region.

it seems clear you like to read whatever you like to in other posts so you can prove your smart.  Again, I said "some areas" in my observation.    I think the NWS highlight qualifies as "some areas".  The other part of my observation was that Snoqualmie could  turn to rain--I may or may not be wrong on that,

I just don't like to be summarily dismissed by anyone--even by someone nearing 500,000 posts.

My lowest was 20.7. Sort of unique that it happened when it was snowing.

Here as well. Loved watching the 20 degree snow falling.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

I give up. Your statement was technically correct and I think somewhat misleading.

Yeah I’m going to be too far south tonight unfortunately. Still snowing lightly and the deck is now covered but that will probably be it for me.

What part of it was misleading?  I'll correct it.

"Some areas" is vague... its one specific area that has flooding concerns most of the winter because its the most flood prone river in WA.

And the forecast for that one river is not a big deal...

I think of this as being a very low flood threat pattern overall.   Which is nice because we have had some significant flood events recently with massive amounts of rain.   This is actually a pretty dry pattern coming up.

Really looking like parts of the Willamette Valley from Albany to south PDX metro could see some snow between 1a-7a tomorrow morning. It would melt by 10am, but isn't that the best kind of snow?

Back below freezing here again after a high of 40F. Still about 5~6" of compacted snow on the ground here; wasn't much in the way of melting today, the roads and sidewalks are still slushy.

Down to 27F here. We had quite a few flurries blow thru today but only a trace accumulation. The wind last night melted quite a bit of snow. I’d guess there’s about a foot left.

I’m getting a trace of snow tomorrow morning.

Well, not sure how to correct my statement from yesterday.  Accordingly, I apologize to you for my misleading and deceptive post.  Didn't want anyone to think their back yard would turn into a lake. I'll pm my posts to you in the future to ensure my posts are not ambiguous.

You don't have to correct anything.  There might be minor flooding in one area.   I was just clarifying that this is the opposite of a flooding pattern for the vast majority of the area.   Both are true.

I'm just a touch too far north. It's now 33F with extremely light snow, but definitely not falling hard enough to accumulate or anything.

Randy... are you just south of the Snohomish/Skagit line? And a few miles east of 5?

Correct! About 1 mile south of the line and about 2 miles east of I-5

I heard that MLB is investigating the Kuchera ratios for their part in the sign stealing scandal. Could be a lifetime ban coming.

Might make the steroid era seem insignificant.

This is more of a banter topic, but it really seems the only type of publicity the MLB can generate is bad publicity. I feel like baseball is still a great sport, but the league does a terrible job at promoting it.
