Makes sense with the trough just pushing further south on this run. Don't like the low track though. 12z ECMWF had 0.9 in of precip for PDX for the Saturday event, the 00z has 0.4 in. More cold air does make it into the basin as you pointed out. Gonna need to be a careful balance between the cold and precip as usual.
Gradient Keeper
Not a bad EURO run.Yeah. This is looking quite solid right now. It's hard to say how much moisture will be available, the exact placement of the low, but seeing the Euro trending colder is never a bad thing. C'mon! Think Cold and SNOW!!!! Man it sucks not having access to my weather groups! I guess eating a midnight Pizza might help with that. Oh, I didn't have DQ tonight, that was a week ago. Good stuff. I'll be back in about 14-18 minutes. Toilet.... If you can't joke around during a media virus scare, when can you? TT-SEA
00Z ECMWF shows temps close to 60 up here on Monday... warmer in the foothills than near the Sound. And not as warm in Oregon. Did not expect to see a chance at 60 here so quickly. And then even warmer on Tuesday... this looks like golf in a short-sleeve shirt for Chris. Same thing again on Wednesday too. Perturbed Member
00z ECMWF is about 1c colder at 850mb (-6c) over PDX and about 2c colder in the basin (-12c). The GFS has about -14c in the gorge at the same time. That brings them a decent bit closer together. The big difference is of course that the GFS has close to 3x the precip...

TacomaWaWx
Still going to be an interesting weekend...I like my chances of seeing some snow in the air atleast...would be cool to see accumulating snow but in mid March it wouldn’t last long anyways. Should be a pretty chilly weekend for early spring...hoping PDX can score a really fun event to make up for the last couple of years. Kind of funny how it looks like snow chances will be mainly south of Seattle now after Seattle south got screwed in January. 2 Quote Tacoma WA elevation 300’ Monthly rainfall-3.56” Warm season rainfall-11.14” Max temp-88 +80 highs-2 +85 highs-2 +90 highs-

But of course the time with the greatest potential must torch every winter. January 2020 in Portland had a similar average temp to a normal Sacramento January, even with that chilly stretch mid month.
