Frontal Snowsquall
A little more info on that EF-0 tornado in Damascus Or.So far this spring has been quite exciting in my book. Looking forward to more battles between the cold and warm air masses. https://twitter.com/NWSPortland/status/1272290093613473792There's some good elevation in that area. Right spot for the funnel cloud to form, didn't have to drop down a lot to reach the ground.

Omegaraptor
Is the bottom image the Brookings effect? That would probably produce temperatures in the 60s at Brookings (and Gold Beach, Crescent City, Eureka, etc.) You need significant pressure gradients between the Great Basin and the coast to get the downsloping foehn wind that triggers the Brookings Effect. What’s also interesting is the temperature gradient between the coast and just a few miles inland in the Klamath Mountains. You can be in the coast with temps in the 60s and drive 15-30 minutes to temps in the 90s or even 100s provided you are in a canyon. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eureka,_California#Climate vs https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willow_Creek,_California#Climate The Klamath Mtns are also home to some of the highest summer temperature diurnal variation on Earth.

smerfylicious
Did the Cascade Loop today for giggles. Washington Pass still has plenty of snow for this time of year. Stevens Pass does as well. Hopefully this portends well to another good winter for our mountain range. It'd be nice to see some reversal from the 20 year trend, if only temporary.
