Yeah it’s going to be a challenge. I’m not really sure if we will be able to keep up with the amount of water coming in. We’ve got a few ponds up here that hold millions of gallons of water. I got called in early today because one of them was overflowing.

I’d do anything to experience a winter like 68/69. Just heard a Seattle old timer share how she had 30 inch drifts in her yard in Seattle proper. I can only imagine how much better it was out here. Sounds awesome.

As pretty as that spiral is on the first storm, I am more intrigued by the second one and how rapidly it seems to be developin-- almost nothing to an orange center. Could it be a strong one or just really, really wet?

That last system way out west near the dateline ~180 W is undergoing rapid cyclogenesis. The 18z NWS/NCEP Pacific Surface Analysis forecasts this low to deepen from 980mb to 957mb.

957 is a pretty good low. I guess I was just wondering if we were going to get it eventually as a big storm or if it would be weakening by the time we get it and just get a lot of rain. That rapid development is always intriguing to me, but as you said it is far away.

Then another 7 years at a large retirement community as a full time groundskeeper so more countless hours on machines. Especially at the senior community we did a lot of snow removal. Epic fun long days of snow awesomeness between 2006 and 2013.

I’ve only measured 1.76” the last couple days and it’s already overflowing? Yeah, you’re Monday/Tuesday is gonna be interesting considering the amount expected.

I had to clean up a fallen rotten tree but it was surprising how little wind damage there was given how loud it sounded. Still nothing has topped the windstorm of early January 2019.
