my God, this forum has devolved into the worst of the worst. It's always emotional and reactionary in here, but it seems that the rational and seasoned members have pulled back to make way for the kids.
I'm going to step back for the day too. It's just too much uninformed nonsense.
I am excited for a lot of you guys, because it seems like this is your first time tracking a PNW winter storm. I remember my first time.
Low(er) dewpoints/nighttime lows kept the anomalies in check out here. Airmass advection was straight out of the west that summer (as opposed to the typical south/southwest) so moisture was limited.
Probably why the 1988 severe season was so lackluster. Ring of fire convection stayed north most of the summer, and downsloping westerly flow likely killed most home-brewed activity.
I had washed a bunch of ants out of my weather station (they made it their home for some reason) 3 different times. I took a different approach yesterday and opened the top up and it got so cooking hot in there that they voluntarily left. Problem solved lol
In other news, it looks like scattered showers and storms every day for the next week. Friday looks like the day with the most potential for a lot of rain. Severe weather may be maximized Mon-Tue with the big CAPE in place.
