It was probably an 80s and 90s thing.   😀

You can see on radar that the westerlies are too strong to get much convergence action, which is why the south Sound might do better later today when they slacken a bit. I wouldn’t count on it though but at least the HRRR finally shows something.

Even @Mid Valley Duck would score a couple of inches with this. Of course this is 10:1 too, we may get better ratios than that.

Clear and 40F outside. I feel like before weather forecasts you'd really have no idea that by the end of the day temperatures will be almost 30 degrees colder.

Lots of stories of early settlers in the Midwest and Plains dying because of surprise blizzards catching them off-guard and they couldn't find their way home.   Sunny and 50 degrees in the morning and then a blizzard with zero visibility and freezing cold by afternoon.

Will be interesting to see which model gets closest to predicting it right. I don’t think any of them will nail down exactly what happens. Several of them show some snow banding down this way…but I’m optimistic that it’ll play out better than what’s shown.

Freaking Portland.  I hope you guys get so much snow that you become sick of it and never want to see it again.

I'm praying you don't get much ice though.

Freaking Portland.  This is 2014 all over again, except better for you guys.   Me?  I'm the same.  No snow.
