My dogs were enjoying a lovely 71 degree day inside (wonder if the radar picked up my sprinklers) my yard looked great, and RIP Dori.

Ho Lee Shiz....

Must be related to the pilots of that Asiana flight that crash landed in San Francisco back in 2013

KRTX radar changed modes (VCP31 to VCP21) midway through, hence the change in sensitivity.

They were interns for the NTSB and they tweeted those names out.  No surprise that was their last day on the job.

What else did they think would happen?  So stupid and like you said in very poor taste.

@Phil Feb 24th-25th 2019 snowstorm in Central oregon. Any 4 hour period from noon the 24th to noon the 25th would work.

Although it probably isn't even that good, because we have crappy radar coverage.

Coldest temp this winter: -7 Jan 13th

Snow depth at Mount Bachelor (last updated April 29th) 88"

Snow depth at my home (updated April 29th) late season 1"!

23-24 seasonal snowfall at home (updated April 29th) 92"!!

This pattern just flat out sucks.  Absolutely no way to get any below normal days for the rest of the month now.  For a while it appeared we would get enough of a break to get a low level chill going mid week, but that ship has sailed now.

Right back to the nightmare pattern that has dominated almost every January this entire century so far.  At least we did get something worthwhile last week.

It was, but unfortunately, I have a very dark sense of humor so not gonna lie, I LMAO at that one.  And, being an aviation buff, I was  watching the coverage and saw this happen real time.

Unfortunately, I haven't found a friend group that can handle my humor up here.  A the few times I tested the waters, it was like ripping a big 'ole wet juicy fart in church.

I had an awesome group when I lived in Oregon, no boundaries at all, and we had some material that probably would have even had an Eddie Murphy type saying "too far guys...too far"

Many people simply leave for cooler places. Big upside to that is traffic declines sharply after the 4th of July and stays that way until around Labor Day. Shaves 10-15 minutes off my commute.

Those first couple weeks of humidity are the worst, then you slowly acclimate to it (key word is “slowly”, lol). The summers where it starts suddenly after a relatively cool spring are nauseating.

That's why congress has done a summer recess for two centuries.

Looks like the early Feb chilly spell has faded a bit the last day or so. Although the ensembles still kind of hint at it.

Low of 42 here, which is also the current temp. Wet the last few days, close to 7” for the month now.

I found 7-11pm for 2016 blizzard (1/22) but also found the period where you were in the deformation band the next day (1/23).

And the bombing March 2nd 2018 nor’easter that backbuilt precip into Philly but screwed me. Still remember how hellaciously windy it was that day, Dulles gusted to 71mph.

Do you have a preferred radar site? Coverage is pretty crappy in central Oregon, you guys need a high altitude radar site in the middle of the state.

That’s fuckin nuts bro. Difficult for us to pull that off even with training convection in July/August. And impossible in January. 😆

And when it does happen it’s usually isolated areas with much less elsewhere. I think tropical storm Lee in 2011 is the last time we achieved that kind of 24hr total on a more regional scale.
