March 2024 Weather in the PNW

Recommended Posts

This weather and DST sucks. 32 currently, 40/25 day with some wet snow. Give us actually snow events, or sunny days, days like this are pretty meh. Atleast it wasn't a bunch of light/moderate rain all day though, that really sucks.

Good night. (It should be 10:54 right now, but here we are.)

Oregon’s in good shape. Washington on the other hand definitely has some work to be done, especially outside of the south Cascades and Blues. Let’s hope for a cool and wet next few months with lots of mountain snows up there.

Blues were doing a lot worse last month. Glad to see my local mountains get there if ever so slowly.

We had some crazy weather at the cabin, Both days it would be sunny and 45 and then a storm would roll in, drop the temp to 30 and lay down 2 inches of snow with a bunch of wind. There is between 6-18 inches of snow up there.

Normally don’t go paddleboarding in March but will probably be going out Saturday. Looks like it should be 70 out on Anderson island. Hasn’t hit 70 in March since 2019.

We went to Anthonys in Gig Harbor yesterday for happy hour and there were quite a few kayakers and paddle boarders out in the rain.  But, most of them looked liked they were training, like they’re on a school team or something. Im sure they have the right gear to get out regardless of the weather.

Sometimes I get the feeling that if I told you Safeway was both Jim and Jesse’s favorite store because of their maple bars, you’d be a prime suspect in Safeway bakery arsons.

I used to work for Safeway many years ago. The maple bars were a break time staple.

My low on my station for January was -34.4! If it was that cold there on a hill i know the deep canyon below my place was -40 no problem. I have seen 20 below in that canyon and 5 below at cabin.

Looks like the ridge lasts a little longer on the euro than the gfs and then we drop back to a seasonal spring pattern. The GEFS was crashing that ridge very quickly a couple days ago.
