That's one hell of a crash on the 18z.

Tuesday afternoon is 68 in Seattle and then it's 44 Wednesday afternoon with 6-10" of snow in the mountains by Wednesday evening.

Comparatively chilly day in Seattle compared to places away from the water.    Its warmer at Snoqualmie Pass than it is at many of the stations in the city of Seattle.

49 at the tip of Magnolia and 61 in Capitol Hill. Pretty unusual to see a 12 degree difference within the city limits like that.

12Z GFS brought the rain in Wednesday morning like the 18Z shows but then showed it popping back up to the mid 50s in Seattle by the afternoon with a SW wind.

I've hit 57 so far. My station is near the 56 in West Seattle. Pretty common for me to be one of the colder spots on a day like this, I need that wind to swing around to the east for me to get warm.

It sure is a tragedy. I get to play road hockey with my kids, and they can decorate the townhouse complex roadway with sidewalk chalk with their neighbourhood friends. And we plan on a hike with them Sunday afternoon, It’s horrible. Best it be cold and wet so they can get back in the house.

Pouty McGee is just sad about PDX stats.    The east wind giveth and the east wind taketh away.

Happened to be in Golden for work today (about 10 mi west of Denver, home to Coors), and decided to make the short trip up into the foothills to check out the storm aftermath.

Drove up to about 7000', where there was about 3' of compacted snow.

FWIW... the WB map shows 54 in Seattle on Wednesday afternoon on the 18Z run.    And low to mid 50s on Thursday and Friday with the precip focused to the south and west those days.    Might not be a total crash back to the middle of winter right away.   Those days could be close to normal.

The ECMWF AI is truly a model crapshoot but the 12Z run does show something like that later in the month.

Yep! Was at the Shell at exit 34 meeting a central Wa shelter half way to transfer in a few dogs they asked us to take. My volunteer transporter was unable to make the drive last minute so I made the drive.

Beautiful sunny day! 🌞😎 PDX up to 71 as of 4pm. Woodland leading the way in the Metro area at 73. Florence so far leading the way across the PNW at 75.

SEA's only had five 70+ degree days before St. Patrick's day in history. Seems fairly likely tomorrow is number 6, but no guarantee.

Indeed, although earliest was almost three weeks earlier on 2/27/68.

This is such a petty and stupid comment.   Enjoying this weather does not mean people don't enjoy other weather.   One could also say they feel sorry for someone whose enjoyment seems to revolve around the stats of an airport runway at PDX.   🙄

Incredible day today.  Ended up with 65/32 here.

It's quite remarkable how similar the temps were west of the Cascades vs east of the Cascades today.  Everything has to be just right for that to happen.  Unfortunately, the warmth in the passes is going to take its toll on snow depths this weekend.

The Magnolia in my front yard is undergoing a major bloomout today. It's getting increasingly colorful outside by the hour as the plants wake up. Tomorrow and Sunday will be spectacular and I can't wait. My SAD is improving already. Also loving how hard this is gonna crash next week. More of a typical 'false Spring' situation compared to the initiation of our annual death ridge. That'll have to wait til April!

Maybe you should you move back to where you came from and take your SAD with you.  Natives don't enjoy the first warmth of spring.    Oh wait... you were born here.   ;)
