That's about a 0.25mbar/mi gradient. Some very serious stuff. Given the very fast movement north the pressure rises would be very sharp. Big winds. Medford NWS sounds quite bullish for southern Oregon. This is associated with the triple point low/wave that races northward. Guidance is showing a very potent negatively-tilted trough moving onshore into SW Oregon late Monday night into Tuesday morning. Model 700 mb winds are 70-80 kt and pressure gradients once again are very impressive across our forecast area (10 to 12 MB RDD-MFR and ACV- OTH). This time, many more locations, including here in the Rogue Valley, could potentially be impacted by strong, damaging winds. The reason for this is the negative tilt to this system, such that winds will be able to align with the Shasta and Rogue Valleys. Some of our strongest wind storms occur in these types of events. Be on the lookout for headlines concerning this event over the next few shifts. -Spilde

Meatyorologist
Euro brings it slightly closer but keeps the cyclone, and its subsequent gradients, weaker. Overall, very similar winds to the 12z But it's an outlier with its weak strength, and climatology suggests a deeper central pressure with that kind of track. 1 Quote Weather stats for MBY Snowfall: -Total snowfall since joining: 50.25" -2018-19: 21" -2019-20: 2.5" -2020-21: 13" -2021-22: 8.75" -2022-23: 5.75" -2023-24*: 0.25" -Most recent snowfall: 0.25”; January 17th, 2024 -Largest snowfall (single storm): 8.5"; February 12-13, 2021 -Largest snow depth: 14"; 1:30am February 12th, 2019 Temperatures: -Warmest: 109F; June 28th, 2021 -Coldest: 13F; December 27th, 2021 -Phreeze Count 2023-24:
