Deweydog
It's become pretty silly on here lately. Nature goes in cycles. The panic and fear mongering is just stupid. Really stupid. We had a miserable period from 2010-12. A nice period from 2013-15 and I am sure another miserable coming up. And we don't control any of it! News flash... the climate goes through different phases and life adapts just fine. The next ice age will actually destroy all vegetation so we have that coming up! I just read that the Orcas in the Sound are thriving. How is that possible in this apocalyptic nightmare of pleasant weather lately??You telling people to settle down. Funny. 3 Quote My preferences can beat up your preferences’ dad.

Tyler Mode
31.1 in Battle Ground. Over the last 5 years, my average first frost is November 3rd, so this is right on cue. This was the second longest growing season when going from freeze to freeze at 203 days. The longest was last year at 226 days. In addition, this year had 96 days between the first and last 90 degree day, the longest in my 5 years out here.
Guest Winterdog
Had a low of 34 this morning. It was overcast most of the night. I just checked and the previous latest freeze here in the past 23 years that I've kept records was October 30th, 2003. Might have a shot Monday night into Tuesday morning but after that it could be a while longer. Back under the bridge.

If this was a lame ESPN segment I'd buy ECMWF and sell GFS.ECMWF will be right. We are due for some ridging after the historically wet period for the Puget Sound anyway. Plus the mountains are basically buried in snow. Ski area operators are praying for the snow to stop so people can get a chance to ski and snowboard in fair conditions.
