The radar has shown a force field all day south of the Seattle area... really impressive with this system.    Run the 8-hour loop at high speed.    Rain has been at our doorstep and seemingly moving in fast all day but never gets here.  😀

Not really... still a colder than normal day up here.     But there was a fair amount of sun and it was dry and its a very pleasant evening out there.   I see BLI got up to 55 today.

Only 50 in North Bend today... temps were capped by thickening clouds this afternoon.     Most places from King northward were into the low 50s.   Not like that is an amazing feat for the middle of March.   Pretty pathetic actually.   But I sense the worm might be turning soon.

Quite impressively the Feb 20 to March 8 period is the 6th coldest on record for SEA.  I was really surprised to see it slightly beats out 1971.

Not really. Maybe a return to average weather. But either way, the real deal came. Just as I said it would.

Warm evening you say?  had lows in the 60s last month, which is like 10°F warmer than your average low in the middle of summer.

SW region is consistently cooler than average on the new EPS weeklies.

That is generally a nice spring pattern up here as the flow tends to be offshore more frequently... which is much different than offshore flow in the winter.

Hopefully a delayed formation of the 4CH at very least.

Very likely to be the case. And probably will be weaker than any year since 2019, IMO.

ECMWF shows a decent yard work day up here on Sunday on the first day with a later sunset.   The warmest temps are in the foothills out here and rain holds off until after dark.

Gusty east wind right now. High of only 45 at PDX today

Slightly interesting tidbit is that today marks the 84th max temp below 50 at PDX this cold season. That ties 2000-01 and tomorrow should break that. Last cold season with more was 1984-85 with 86 of them, and then 1978-79 with 93.
