Al Gore. Just Don't. C'MON man. I weep for anyone who believes anything he says. There is a video too and the outlandish nonsense he spews. He seems to actually believe what he's saying too. (If this needs to be moved to the Banter thread go ahead)

Dramatic and PROFOUND changes of the EPS 45 Day! If even half of this verified it would be historic.

from just the eps plots - modified and extended period of arctic air from early Feb to early March. Portland gets moisture and we in Seattle get the cold.

South valley involved?

Portland’s lowest RH today was 41%, putting it right between Denver and Phoenix.

Low dewpoints are common with our east wind events.    Its normal here... happens all the time.

Just wondering if any of the past weeklies showed westside snow on that same graph. Haven't seen a comparison. Even the previous weeklies probably had a few rogue snowy members skewing the results and the mean. Would like to see the 500mbs.

Yeah... I bet it often shows snow for us.

The 500mb output agrees very well with the current EPS for the next 15 days with a western trough... then it slowly goes zonal for the second half of the run.

Nothing too dramatic.    I would not think it was a snowy pattern.

Can't stand the scientifically illiterate use of the term "polar vortex".

I’m with you there.

Sorry guys for sharing that image, it was irresponsible of me. What I should have done is added a disclaimer that it was low resolution, pointless, and anyone posting the same thing was to be put on mod preview as the only legit answer is zonal and warmth. Again, my apologies.

You should be ashamed of yourself...at least you are learning from your mistakes.

Yeah, they will take actual meteorological terms that sound sort of sexy out of context and run with them. Or act like they’re a sign of something new or unusual. I’d hate to break it to them that there is a polar vortex somewhere every year.
