July 2019 Weather Discussion for the PNW

Recommended Posts

You’ve actually told me multiple times that you have your doubts. Some of the stuff you’ve pointed out has actually played a large role in my suspicions.

I can't remember all of the details... but a couple things convinced me that he really was here.

Here was last night's 00Z GFS ensemble mean high temp map for today...

gfs-washington-t2m-f-max6-3753600-1.png

And the 00Z ECMWF operational run from last night for today...

ecmwf-washington-t2m-f-max6-3753600.png

The GFS ensemble map looks like its lower resolution... but it has done way better for the Puget Sound area during the cold period last week and this current warm spell.

The ECMWF was off by 9 degrees at SEA today... and 4 degrees at OLM.    It was also 89 or 90 out here at most stations today.   The ECMWF failed miserably... while the GFS ensemble properly showed the warmth into central King County.

Not sure what to make of it... maybe just luck.

For the record... I actually believe you have been in Everett and West Seattle and will be again later this week. And also Leavenworth. Although you literally went right through North Bend and did not even make mention of it... which seems odd since you track the weather here on phone. ;)

You also posted pics of your drive up to Vancouver last time.

IIRC that’s because I didn’t realize I was driving through North Bend at the time. Or if I did, I probably didn’t make the connection. I don’t recall tbh.

I don't even follow your weather... but if I was ever in the vicinity of Booze Creek then I would be paying attention to the area.    ;)

That GFS map is not close farther north. 87F here today. Also at least 87F in Abbotsford but I did hear some unofficial numbers close to 90.

EC was close with EUG at least. GFS had us 9 degrees too cool.

Weird, nothing has convinced most of us that he was here, no proof at all.

I can Google search pics of anywhere, download and make an edit to make them appear accurate time wise and convince most they are true.

I remember his pic going up I-5 north of Bellingham was hazy (probably smoke) and I checked traffic cams at the time and it matched up well.

Tread lightly. Tim is still paying the price for doing the dirty work regarding his Maryland mountain chalet.

This made me laugh... its funny because its true.

00Z ECMWF is perfection for the next week at least... not as hot as today but generally sunny and either side of 80 in the Seattle area.   It does show morning marine layer clouds on Wednesday and Saturday... but sunny afternoons those days.

Sooo....in accordance with a more resigned and calm look at things in general, as well as a new profile picture, I’ve decided to go the distance and change my name as well. A reinvention, so to speak. We’ll see if this one sticks, perhaps.

I didn’t really know where North Bend was, lol. Was feeling my way around the area for the first time (I had never driven that way before).

I did take pictures of the drive both ways and some burn areas (and of Leavenworth) that I can post if you want, though. I have an entire album on my phone dedicated to that trip with several dozen pictures. So I’ll post them all here if you have any doubts. :)

And the reason I’ve followed Seattle area weather more closely is because I have a bunch of family there. I have no family in Oregon so I’ve never been there and don’t really follow it closely.

Anyone here is welcome to friend me on Facebook or whatever and scroll through my friends list and verify this. I’m already friends with Bryant, Bainbridge, Brennan, etc. Would be dumb to make this up.

What do you want me to do?

I posted pictures and video on my YouTube account from previous trips, but I’m happy to do whatever it takes to put this nonsense to rest once and for all.

FWIW, I did post my location on the radarscope app last year.

Again, I’m happy to meet up or take a video at whatever specified landmark y’all want me to. I’ll post my GPS location..Fred can check my IP address. I’ll take a video of the plane landing at SeaTac and the intercom audio confirming it. I’m not lying, guys.

Makes no sense to concoct a lie, and risk it being exposed by bringing it up again and friending people from this forum on Facebook. Lol.

Haha. I do need to visit OR sometime. In fact I need to travel more in general...I’ve only visited 13 US states, and with the exception of BC I’ve never left the country. Lol.

OLM is running almost exactly average for this month, and it's looking like they'll finish that way. Certainly not a warm month once you get away from the UHI spots and the coast.

attachicon.gifMonthTDeptWRCC-NW.png

My brother had mentioned how they are running about +4 for the month down in Coos County.

Otherwise one of the best summer's in memory underway.
