TacomaWaWx
First real wind event of the season underway fairly weak one however. Hood canal bridge is closed currently due to wind as well. Should easily be the strongest southerly wind event so far this season. 1 Quote Tacoma WA elevation 300’ Monthly rainfall-3.56” Warm season rainfall-11.14” Max temp-88 +80 highs-2 +85 highs-2 +90 highs-
Prairiedog
For sure. 2007 was the last time there was regional Arctic air in January. 2008, 2009, 2012, 2013, and 2017 all got close but couldn't quite get there. It may not have been arctic in origins per se but when my small river freezes over, two mornings of 8f and several days with highs in the low to mid 20's, the cold was great. I had snow on the ground for almost a week. At 310ft not that far from PDX, I'll take that any day. It sure felt arctic. I don't remember much or any Gorge outflow here (maybe some out towards Gresham?). I was really happy with that level of cold.
SilverFallsAndrew
I didn't think the EURO was a total disaster. ShawniganLake
This is just sad... I've triple checked this because I can't believe it's true but according to NWS CF6 data: #Seattle has not recorded a gust over 25 mph since Oct. 25. And 28 mph stands as our peak gust this autumn/winter April 6 was last time Seattle hit 30 mph gust. #wawx— Scott Sistek (@ScottSKOMO) December 31, 2019One of the most dead boring nov/dec I can remember. TacomaWaWx
Definitely a step in the right direction. Even if we don't end up having snow and cold atleast were having a legit active pattern and not split flow. Plenty of mountain snow and rain finally. This pattern very well could deliver snow and cold however with a few minor tweaks to what is being shown.
