December 2019 Weather Discussion for the PNW

Nothing in my life has ever compared to that storm. Brute force wind and cold I can remember my analog wind meter I mounted on my parents house going to 65mph. Speaking of that meter my mom called harry wappler and asked him where to buy the meter and he sent her to a place in Enumclaw where they made the meter. Harry was my favorite weather man on tv.

I forgot how many people were without power for days and even weeks!

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

The ensembles were a total trainwreck...Yikes. I'll have to check out the CFS. Shawnigan is right, I have been very busy with my children, we had the twins birthday party today and such.... Been gorgeous out here in Oklahoma.

Speaking of dry spells, they haven't had a significant snow event out here in Tulsa since at least 2013-14.... And they average about twice as much snow as PDX annually.

2009/10 and 2010/11 were both top 5 snowfall winters out here though.

So awesome you are able and willing to travel to be a part of all of your kids lives!! I know people here that find it difficult(don't want to) to travel less than 20 miles to be a part of their kids lives.

Usually those in the inner cities. Too busy dealing drugs and keeping street cred. Plus, they can’t afford to.

No, no and no, the one's I know literally choose not too.

So what you are saying is no inner city dads have illegitimate children? Children that only mothers are raising? Don’t try to sell me this. I will laugh.

Speaking of AR’s and cold snaps. December 1990 was particularly fun thanks to those ridiculous rains. We had a campground in town that was still essentially flooded when the Arctic freight train arrived and froze it solid. Good times. Should be a lot of land skating opportunities up north after New Year’s.

So I guess racism is cool on this site now?

Go **** yourself Josh.

Racism? Inner city can mean any race. I didn’t mention race. I am only speaking in statistics. Cheers.

Wow, there are some nuts out there. I will assume you live in Seattle proper?

0.78" today. Shuster parkway by oldtown was closed still, along with jack hyde park. Commencement bay is pretty muddy from the puyallup river outflow...lots of debris were in the water and washed up on the waterfront.

I figured that with the brief lull in weather excitement I’d honor Mossman’s request...

Peeling a nasty blood blister has reminded me of model viewing of late. Lol!!!

Excellent!! And very true!

That beauty was created on October 25th, just hours before the Arctic frontal passage the following Monday.

Do you still have a finger?
