I hit 86.9 around 1:30, since then I've been hovering around 85 with a brisk breeze out of the NNW.

Was hovering around 82 IMBY for a few hours, now going up again, but given that it’s 83.4°F at 3:00 PM, probably won’t see a 90-burger today.

It's called clown range for a reason.

Does Vancouver get downsloping hot winds?

2022-23 Winter:

11/29: .25" + 1" = 1.25" | 11/30: .25"

12/2: .2" + .5" = .7" | 12/3: .2" | 12/4: trace

12/18: .4" | 12/19: .2" + .8" = 1.0" | 12/20: .2 + 1.5" = 1.7

1/31: trace | 2/14: trace | 2/22: .2 | 2/26: 1.0"

Total: 6.7"

Haven’t personally noticed it yet, but given our proximity to the mountains, we sure could.

For whatever reason, the temperature tends to spike early at my locale, then to lose steam after noon. So I doubt it will happen today.

It's called clown range for a reason.

The airport doesn’t seem to.  When the flow is “offshore” they generally still get a cool NW wind down the strait.  Like today. It’s only 75 there currently.  I think the warmest afternoons there see a SE surface wind with a baking hot airmass overhead.

Only 92 here... happily missing out on the downslope component happening along the coast.

But I am in a unique location on the very top of a mountain that is also somehow at the base of the mountains.  Very confusing.   🤨

1000ft in the sky. Higher than our cloud base much of the time.

The valley floor is 500 feet in the sky.    Absolutely crazy.   The sky must begin at 500 feet underground.    😀

Still no sign of any hurricanes forming in the Atlantic basin on the Euro.

I feel like the Euro is conservative when it come to hurricanes when the GFS just loves to spit out fantasy hurricanes in the long range such as the one on the 12z hitting Louisiana in the long range and then the one it’s been spinning up off the coast of California.

Up to 89 IMBY. Though it feels like 92 with the 64 degree DP.

Duvall is one of the cooler spots on the east side.    Probably related to less downslope.  95 out here now and I see a 98 to my west.

Yeah Duvall is less affected by downslope and I think that’s why temps have actually been underperforming with this heat wave so far. Though temps did not underperform with the heat wave in late July last year.

Ruston Way at 83° so far for the day and 98° at Pacific just south of Auburn and north of Sumner. I believe that 98° in Pacific is warmest of this summer for the entire Puget Sound Region

You seem to be in a spot that gets warmer than most the surrounding area in summer, colder in winter.

It is an odd little microclimate, just elevated above the river to our south just enough to maximize heating in the summer (plus downsloping), and in the winter same reasoning different result.  Literally in the winter we have been in the upper 20's with heavy snow and 6+ inches on the ground, I drive south and west maybe 2 miles and it could be 32-34 with wet snow mix and a sloppy 2-3 inches of snow, kinda cool.

Sometimes I wish the NWS would just acknowledge when their forecasts/pin point auto ones as well are just horrible.  They adjusted KHQM forecast to a high of 87 a little bit ago, it had already been up to 92 🤣!!

TWC better than NWS at local pin point forecast
