Unrelated to any topics at hand-- but absolutely ridiculous to see the extraordinary intensification of Hurricane Otis in the Pacific. A mere tropical storm yesterday, it is now a category 5 expected to bare down on the city of Acapulco.

Steady rain and 49F. Really nice to start the water year off with 3.30" in the bucket this month already.

I hope y'all get buried the fall/winter. So fun to root for it and track it together.

What is your average precip amount for October and what did you get in October of 2016?

It intensified by 110mph in 24 hours. More than three times the wind speed to be qualified as rapid intensification. Breaks the old 24 hour record of 75mph set by Patricia.

Patricia's 24 hour record is intact (the 75 you're referring to is 12 hour, Patricia intensified 120 in 24 hours). The 12 hour record was broken though, since it intensified by 90 mph.

EUG should be at 2.08" by now and they're currently at 1.81" per ACIS so they should be back on track after tonight. Springfield has seen significantly more than the airport so that has been very nice.

Sorry, a tad late. There probably won't be too much of anything exciting to track on the models for awhile. Well, that's my take based on what I see right now. The weather will probably become active again in November.

Acapulco is in extreme danger. This looks terrifying.

That last minute shift to the right just doomed so many people. This was just a tropical storm less than 24 hours ago. Second fastest explosive intensification within a 24 hour span, only behind Hurricane Patricia.

Nice. I'm in Casper, WY for the next few days, looks like we'll go from a high near 70 tomorrow to a little snow by Thursday afternoon. High of just 28 by Saturday.

Also looks like I'll be getting home Saturday evening to our first snowfall of the season in Denver.

Temp at 38, rainfall up to 0.95" on the day.  Quite the soaker up here, I think the models were only showing about .4" or so for Bellingham.

KBLI is showing winds out of the NE blowing 20 with gusts to 28.  Peak gust so far was 35 about a half hour ago.
