Looks like we are gonna have another sub 40 high here, only got up to 37. I know a lot of people don’t like the weather of the south valley but I do really like when we get inversions.

A lot of people would complain no matter where they were.

I'm driving to Portland in a few weeks.  How do I get to this place?

You take I-84 to the Corbett exit. Turn right and take the road all the way to the top. There is a Y at the top of the hill, you want to turn left. Come to the stop sign and drive forward. Keep on that street and drive probably a mile or more. When you see another Y in the road, keep left. The other road goes up and the one you want goes down. After that, it's easy to get there.

Also, be careful about how you orient your car when you park there unless you want to pull a tommy boy car door oopsie.

You mean like today? Just got done with a nice hike out in the Gorge.

So you're saying that enjoying some nice sunshine is better than having days on end of having smoke filled 38 degree fog is preferable? Sort of sounds like it.

Nope. A foggy hike would have been great too. I’ve gotten some of my favorite hiking shots in fog. In fact there was plenty of stratus clinging to the higher hilltops out here despite the raging wind.

I don’t really mind most weather conditions. It’s the constant torching that gets me, whether it’s sunny or cloudy or windy or rainy or foggy.

Cool story. I also don't mind most weather conditions, including rain. Some sunshine would be nice every once in a while. It's neat that you like fog a bit. Try living in it where it doesn't break for a week straight and then get back to me.

He complains more than anyone here because its always a "constant torch".   Sort of our new normal.  If someone strongly advocates that people should find ways to love any kind of weather (in order to be a proud contrarian) then that person should also find ways to enjoy warming.

Just my 2 cents.   I personally don't mind people complaining because its a way of venting.   But you can't be anti-complaining towards everyone else and then always justify why you are complaining.

He straight up hates the south valley dude. Best to not even interact with him. I still don't understand how he isn't still banned.

What's wrong with the southern Willamette Valley? Yeah it can be much foggier and stagnant than PDX metro, but....

Jesse basically likes "all" weather conditions other than when it's sunny and warm during winter (rare). Definitely seems like a normal dude.

I think it's a nice place here. I wish the winters were a little better in terms of coupled Arctic airmasses but we've done well for snow since 2012.

We don't have the gorge and the valley ends down here. We get very little wind. Inversions are tough to break and it is the foggiest area in the entire state.

Yeah it's tough to get fun, Arctic cold here without it blowing over the Belknap gap and down the McKenzie, which is pretty rare.

Coupled Arctic airmasses from the north haven't happened here since Jan 2017.

I really like our summers. Yes, they are a bit warm but it isn't that uncomfortable and it is easy to adapt. For example, when I go on bike rides around our dozens of miles of bike paths, I take two water bottles. One for drinking and one for dousing myself during the ride. Even 100 degree bike rides during the middle of the day are manageable.

I honestly think it's fun to count up the number of 90F-burgers with NFL players every year. Makes it all the better if we get snow the next fall-winter.

The specifics don't matter.   Its inconsistent to mock people for complaining and then tell us why its fine for you to complain.
