I'm never going to feel bad about wildly rooting for systems to trend south again.

Why would you....I have never once felt bad rooting for snow systems to trend north and hope all Oregon gets is rain, not one bit bad.

Great shots. I was down by Point Ruston earlier but didn’t see anything this good. Some great wave action though.

Wind is still basically calm here. Temperature isn't dropping very fast yet because of that. 31.

Went from 37 to 30 in the last four to five hours here near 170th and Rigert.  Not a bad drop considering the calm wind.

The wildlife west of the cascades are shittting there pants right now. It will be really rough on the deer.

I saw a lot of lethargic songbirds at the park today. Normally they would fly away when approached, but in this cold you can just walk right up to them and they don't care.

Yeah that looks decent, Corvallis and areas adjacent should get a dusting up to an inch with that moisture trying to get into the valley before ice.

Hopefully this will kill some palm trees that these people plant around this area. They look terrible and out of place.

I like the windmill palms but this has got to be rough on them, particularly with no snow to insulate the soil.

It's called clown range for a reason.

I’m going to have start rooting for them to trend north more again. People got sick of it last year but IT WORKED.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned yet (sorry, I’m not reading through 30 unread pages!) but tomorrow looks EPIC in the EPSL. High around 20 with gusts in the 40s and wind chills double digits below zero. Will feel like the Midwest for a day.

Hopefully it kills any rouge palms and foreign insects.

I don’t know much about PDX climo during these setups, but I’m surprised the models are saying Ptype is an issue given the depth of the arctic airmass and high ratios expected. Is this typical for these types of setups?

I took a walk around the neighborhood to survey the risky trees, branches over powerlines, etc. Did not look good. I think there is zero chance I'll have power if we get over an inch of ZR. It looks totally sketchy.
