Looking in the distance, the trees up the hill have a light touch of snow clinging to their needles, casting each branch in a faint white outline against the deep conifer green. Some of the larger cottonwoods have an apparent glaze on them, but the stuff closer to the ground has already started to drip off. I hate how quickly I find joy in cold and snowy weather. My wife once asked me if I loved snow more than her. I’m in the eastern part of the city near the summit of a ridge, so I have the advantage of elevation and being inland against the official airport reporting station, so it is easier to make this sort of score IMBY.
