Gorgeous sunset from Mt Tabor park. Lots of big, downed trees on the north and east side of the park from our ARCTIC WINDS three weeks ago. But honestly the damage wasn’t quite as bad as I feared. I guess the historic shelter took a pretty good hit but that part of the park was cordoned off.
I was intrigued so I looked up the average high and low temperatures across WA for August of 1899. Olga's average low of 45F is pretty impressive as it's about 4 degrees colder than anything we've seen in the last 50 years. The fact it's so much colder than every other location on the west side does make me wonder if there was an error with the thermometer at that time or maybe it was just incredible cold winds blowing off the straight.
The Seattle average high for the month was almost 10 d
Looks like this system might bust your local drought once and for all… it’s nice to see the stubborn patterns of the last 2-3 years starting to breakdown a bit.
I'm rooting for a huge ridge to be sitting over alaska for most of our Denali climb, May 12th(weather permitting)-the end of the month/start of June. When I did my first Denali expedition back in the early 90s, we got horrible weather for almost the entire 3 week expedition, at one point temperatures were -39F with 80+MPH winds and heavy snow, and we never got a good day of weather to summit Denali, which is why I'm going back with the hope of being successful this time.
I do NOT want to experience horrible weather like that again.
There's some big supercells in SE Kansas moving right toward me and its very thick outside with a temp of 76. Really hope I just get the rain but I think it's going to come with some wind and hail.
No, I am being serious. What has gotten into you? I have never taunted you. I have never been mean to you. You have always been polite so I respond in kind, even if I do not agree with some of your points. I genuinely found it funny you responded to my benign post thrice.
So I am now befuddled.
Because I pointed out that even though a lot of people might say they are sick of partisan politics, they still partake and fall for the common traps to get them to further the cycle, you say:
- I love to taunt and that's all I do here
- People like me make you want to leave
- I piss in the punch bowl and come back for seconds
I'm sorry, but that's total bullsh*t.
I do not know your friends. I was not insinuating that your friends do that. I was pointing out the bigger picture.
Does the fact that I speak my mind bother you? I don't mince words, and I do not take crap from rude, ignorant people. I have never found you to fall into that category, so what gives, Andie?
Getting a nice steady generous rain here after some thunderstorms rolled through earlier this afternoon… finally passed the 1 inch mark for storm total rainfall earlier.
Looks like the heavy swath of convection to the south (in KS/ MO) might eat away at our heavy rain/ thunderstorm potential for tonight… however I am really enjoying this soaking rainfall right now without the destruction from yesterday’s storms.
