Well timed organized blob of moisture comes through Thursday night on the WRF with 925mb temps around -1 and 1,000 foot temps below freezing despite strong Southerly flow. Interesting setup.

Oh man! We have tons of those up here, the dogs kill several a year. Those and skunks, but I've never seen a raccoon here.

Possem is a good animal to have around. They eat bugs and mice, also rats. They get into garbage though. I always see them and I never have mice or rats.

Cold front passed. Wind went calm for 5 minutes then picked up from west and temp dropped 3 degrees in 10 minutes.

This is not a traditional cold front passage... the wind never really switches directions.   It just dies down for a short while.   In the Seattle area it never even dies off and continues from SW right through the morning.

The cold front is not even close to passing through according to radar or satellite.

This is an unusual setup where the wind shift and temp drop associated with the cold front catches up to the moisture plume on radar/satellite so it's further East than it looks like. Temps are in the low 40's with West and NW wind West of Puget Sound now and nearly 50 with Southerly flow East of it.

We have 4 barn cats that keep the rats and mice at bay.

Before we had cats the rodent population was ridiculous. The worst are the wood rats. They love to try and get in your house and take whatever they can carry. Also known as "pack rats."

Hadn't looked at this but that's nearly identical to where I eye balled the cold front based on the surface ops map.

Yep, gradients go pretty flat once it passes until later tomorrow when southerly flow picks up again (Which of course you know who pointed out.). That's why snow levels should rise a bit tomorrow, even though the air will still be cooling aloft.

Nope, this is a weird one, its not.

A front is a wind shift and temp change. There could be more than one. A front definitely passed through here. Aberdeen had a wind shift and temp drop couple hrs ago.

Definitely passed through your area recently based on radar.

Cold front was pretty weak precipitation wise when it came through here. The temperature drop was impressive with 6 degrees over an hour, but it only rained moderately for a minute or two before letting up again.
