Yeah, the snow level is so strange currently in the Cascades. Still quite a bit of snow in shaded valleys 500-1500 ft, but otherwise on the forest roads I've been exploring the last week or so the snow doesn't really start until 3-4,000 ft. I went up Mailbox Peak late last week which is at 4,800 ft and snow didn't start until 4,000 ft and there were only a few small snow patches to cross to get all the way up to the summit.

There was still some snow on the ground in the shady forested areas around here on Friday.  I imagine it has finished melting with the rain the past 2 days.  Other than that we just have piles of snow here and there that the plow left or from people’s driveways.

It looks like the first half of the month is going to be pretty cold as well.  A lot of days with northerly gradients and below normal 850s.

Looks like SEA has a shot at -10 departure on Wednesday according to the 18z ECMWF.  We'll have to see if that holds on the 0z.

Wow!  1955, 1956, 1962, 1984, 1985, and 1989 all in the analogs tonight.  The cream of the crop for late winter events with the exception of 1984, but I love that year anyway.

I get that Phil hasn't earned the benefit of the doubt, but he proved that he was there.  Took videos of the snow falling, mentioned Chris in one of the videos be made after Chris asked him to.  And the pics and videos of the parking lot he took match what Tim found in the Google pics of the hotel he mentioned, and matcj what I saw too. 

Also, he took a video, part of it is in the hallway and the carpet in this video is a 100% match to a pic I saw on the hotel website.

I think it's pretty rude to be automatically accusing someone without at least looking into the evidence.  You didn't bother to do that.  I did.

Right now we’re -0.1 for January. So itll be an average January in terms of temperature and about 2 inches above normal rainfall despite only getting about a 1/2” of rain the second half of the month.
