1985 and 2014 both ended with sun and 60 in Klamath Falls. Though both featured some snow. 

I don't think there was a lot of pack and for very long either.

12z WRF looking snowier up here. Most of this falls on Wednesday evening with some of the stuff near Everett falling on Tuesday morning.

Looks like Eugene is at 4.03” for January. 3.38” of this fell in just three days, Jan 3-5. Just 0.65” fell the rest of the month.

Good news is soil moisture is not drastically below average anywhere along the west coast, save for a couple spots in eastern OR and WA that might not even be correct on the map. You can still see where those endless ARs hit in NW WA. Given the inversions and low sun angles, not much evaporation happens in January. So while we’re not adding water, we’re not exactly losing much either.

I think we will be ok this summer. I really do. Not the big fire issues of the last few years. Not over 40 90s etc. It’ll be fine.

Definitely some ensemble intrigue as we head towards the middle of the month. We'll see how things pan out. We are actually going to be experiencing some chilly weather and have pretty cold air aloft the next few days, so in that sense this current "cool snap" did work out. Also means we could get something mid month that delivers a cool airmass, but minimal excitement. But something to watch.

Check out the range on this WSW. Going to be a huge gradient between snow, sleet, and ZR. South and east of Tulsa will probably be mostly sleet and ZR.

The first half of February looks very similar to 2011.
