Apparently its actually going to snow for about 5-7 days straight.    Including a significant snowstorm in SW WA and NW OR by the middle of next week.    It so much easier to get snowy runs in April than it was in January and February.

Lowlands obviously aren’t going to see much if any snow but the 00z euro is a great run for the Cascades and snowpack situation

Our “nice weather” window is a lot shorter than yours.

Funny, your 70°F/dry season is one month long. We can see those conditions for two thirds of the year, and at least semi-consistently for one.

Unfortunately the reality is a bit more complicated. To actually see low-humid 70°F and sunny for eight months straight would bring about intense wildfires and horrible drought. Ironically it would only be enjoyable for around two months before we started choking on smoke lol

Check this low out... Tightest gradients to the NW with the highest baroclinity to the south. It's like a normal cyclone, but the dynamics rotated 90° right!

32 for a low! First time we’ve hit freezing in April since 4/8/11. We could potentially get another freeze or two with this upcoming pattern. We had just one freeze in April 2011 so getting multiple would be pretty cool. It’s fairly difficult getting below freezing this late in the season.

I’d be surprised if there was accumulating snow below 500’ with this pattern. Most places below 1000’ it’s probably doubtful too but your location almost always scores somehow.

NWS discussion sounds like snow levels are around 300-600’ Sunday morning. With some precipitation around its definitely possible quite a few people could see some snowflakes in the air. Even if there’s no accumulation in most places getting snow in the air just a couple days after +70 degree weather is pretty impressive.

Ended up with a low of 30 here this morning a good deal of frost around

Yesterday was 52/36 with a midnight low should be interesting to see how warm the next two days get before we crash back down on Friday

12 GFS is totally different than the 00Z run early next week.    Complete cave to the ECMWF.

Record low for Eugene for the date is 27 so it’s close to the record most record lows for the western Oregon valleys this time of year are in the mid 20s to around 30

The overall pattern is really chilly for this time of year. Now that it’s April and the sun angles are higher…it probably won’t be incredibly interesting but atleast statistically it should be nice negative departures. Could’ve been a pretty chilly pattern a month or two ago.
