Glad I can provide entertainment at least!

Just a 3-day dry, sunny period.     That is all.

The Timtertainment has been the best part of this pattern. Yeah I am not a huge fan of it either but I don’t make 20 posts every day regurgitating rainy day statistics.

Was thinking of how mild this June has been but I went and looked last year and it was the same way and even with a bit more rain. Last year second half of June was brutal though probably that's why I was thinking this year feels a lot cooler.

ECMWF is the only model that knows what is going on... based on that I am now hoping for an actual pattern change around 6/24.    I won't post any more about rain statistics in the meantime.   Already established we are in record territory in terms of persistence.   And the next week is a given now.

Some year I would like to see Cedar Lake record 10" or more of rainfall in July or August. The general hilarity factor would be off the scale.

Maybe this year!

No more rain stats.

But still have to talk about the models... and the 12Z ECMWF shows something at the end of the run that I have not seen for a long time.   🥰

What’s a record?

For number of rainy days (.01" or more) from April 1 to May 31, it looks like Cedar Lake is at 56. That is a record for them, but 1984 is close with 53. June 1984 was also a wet month, so that spring would probably be the best comparison to this in terms of persistence out there, along with 2010.

1984 had a nice early start to fall in September. Little brief warm up in early October then it was off to the the races.

July-September 1984 was pretty spectacular here overall.    Followed up by one of the driest years in history here.

Only 40 inches below normal for rainfall here in 1985.    And a pretty nice summer in there.

I feel like sunny afternoons would be a better stat to track than days with measurable precipitation. Would be 'more difficult' to do and it would have no recorded historical avg to compare it to but there's no better time to start than now.

KSEA maxed at 59°F around 1pm. Given increasing cloudcover and impending rain I'll wage that that'll be the high today. Around 4-7°F below what I expected.
