View of Orcas Island as well . Helped my ex move up there these past few days. We get along so I’ll be using her place here and there to explore up there. I may hang a nest cam and weather equipment as well. This photo is from her back deck looking north. Also a nice size flag across the way for measuring wind strength. But the Feb 2006 cold east wind event was easily the strongest I ever saw in Tacoma. I remember that one blasted Tacoma good. That was highly unusual. Up here we had gusts into the 40s with temps in the low 20s. The December event was insane up here. It blew like hell for about 48 hours straight. 1 Death To Warm Anomalies! I have toyed with the idea of moving to Whatcom County for a long time. Back in the day it was much more impressive than in recent years though. TacomaWx
As of today we’re -4.2 MTD. Average Min temp is 35.5 this month which is very chilly for November but lows in the final 1/3rd of the month will likely bump the average up.
TacomaWx
This dry streak will be entering its 13th day tomorrow. Previous record dry streak for November is 9. Pretty crazy to go almost 2 full weeks without rain in the peak of the wet season. We went 17 days without rain in the fall of 2019…but half of that dry streak was in late October. 1
